This multi-volume series documents one of the largest and most comprehensive excavations of a historical-period cemetery ever undertaken in North America. Conducted by Statistical Research, Inc. as part of the Joint Courts Complex Archaeological Project in Tucson, Arizona, the work chronicles the investigation of the Alameda-Stone Cemetery and the transformation of Tucson from a remote frontier outpost into a modern urban city. The volumes cover the history, archaeology, skeletal biology, and material culture of the cemetery’s diverse population, reflecting Tucson’s multicultural heritage from the Spanish Colonial period through the American Territorial era.
