Technical Editor / Report Coordinator

Location: Redlands, CA
A growing cultural resource management consulting firm seeks a technical editor/report coordinator to fill one position in our Redlands, California, office. The Publications Department supports the company’s archaeological, historical, ethnographic, and interpretive projects by copyediting, formatting, and producing reports, books, brochures, and other material for publication or presentation.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Ability to conduct oneself in a highly professional and diplomatic manner and manage the production of large reports with little direct supervision
- Ability to communicate effectively with authorsto obtain information and expedite reportsand with Production staff in our Tucson office to produce reports
- Strong writing and organizational skills
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple deadlines
- Attention to detail; including fluency in formal, academic English and grammar
- Ability to edit academic/technical writing using in-house style guide and the Chicago Manual of Style
- Intermediate to advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products, including MS Word; experience with WordPerfect preferred; ability to work on networked Windows platforms
- Ability to proof and correct material according to SRI standards for graphic and report production; involves fact checking and preliminary formatting of text, tables, and references according to company style
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in English or a related field (or show commensurate experience)
This is a new position and will require paid travel to our Tucson, Arizona, office for 1 week of training.
