Requirements:

This position requires a B.A. or B.S. in anthropology, archaeology, or a related discipline with an emphasis in archaeology and geospatial technologies. Equivalent experience may be counted for degree requirements. Geospatial technologies include mathematical spatial analysis, satellite and aerial remote sensing, geographic information systems (GIS), global positioning systems, total station surveying, geophysics, spatial visualization, and photogrammetry. A general, technical understanding of all of these technologies with advanced specialization in at least one spatial method is desirable. Previous cultural resource management (CRM) experience is preferred. Continuing professional education, professional involvement, and adherence to professional ethical standards are integral to this position.

Job Description:

The assistant geospatial analyst assists in the collection, processing, analysis, and dissemination of spatial data in a GIS platform. This position aids in maintaining overall cartographic and geospatial standards as outlined by the department director. This position also requires the ability to work independently at managing data and overseeing general geospatial and cartographic needs on a project-to-project basis. Specifically, this includes:
