SRI's President Elected Chair of California State Historical Resources Commission

SRI President Dr. Donn Grenda has been elected Chairperson of the California State Historical Resources Commission for 2007. Dr. Grenda has served on the commission since his appointment to a four-year term by Governor Schwarzenegger in 2005. Dr. Grenda will chair the nine-member commission that is responsible for the identification, registration, and preservation of California's cultural heritage. The commission's mission, in partnership with the people of California, is to preserve and enhance California's irreplaceable historic heritage as a matter of public interest so that its vital legacy of cultural, educational, recreational, aesthetic, economic, social, and environmental benefits will be maintained and enrich the lives of present and future generations.
