Jeffrey H. Altschul takes office as President of the Register of Professional Archaeologists

Jeffrey H. Altschul takes office as president of the Register of Professional Archaeologists (RPA) on January 1, 2006. He has served on the RPA board of directors since 2001, first as the representative of the American Anthropological Association and then as president-elect. Dr. Altschul also is serving his second term as a commissioner on the Arizona Governor's Archaeology Advisory Commission (2002-2007). In October 2005, he presented an invited lecture entitled "Experiencias en el Manejo de Recursos Culturales" ["Experiences in Cultural Resource Management"] to La Dirección General de Investigación y Posgrado de la UAEM in Cuernavaca, Mexico. Last December, Dr. Altschul represented the United States at the Congress of Rescue Archaeology Research, which met in Pultusk, Poland.
